Used for in vitro qualitative detection of enterovirus 71 IgM antibody in human serum, plasma and whole blood by indirect method.
After human infection with EV71, specific immunity can be obtained, and specific antibodies IgM and IgG can be found in serum. IgM can be positive within 7 days of onset and can last up to 94 days after onset. IgM antibodies are often used to assist detection of early infection. IgG appears slowly (2 to 4 weeks), peaks at 3 to 6 months and then decreases. It may last a lifetime and is often used as a diagnostic aid in the middle and later stages of infection.
